Christmas Well Dressing

The Blessing of the Well Dressing will be by Rev. Gary Schofield, & Rev. Peter Sheasby. at Harthill Methodist Chapel on Saturday 9th December at 4pm

Harthill School children and Harthill Village Voices will sing for us, Harthill Morris and Three Shires Musicians will accompany the carols.

Afterward Father Christmas will be there and hot toddy, fruit juice and mince pies will be served.

The well dressing will then be placed in the well for the Christmas period.

Race night

Saturday 2 December - Laughton-en-le-Morthen Village Hall

Tickets £7 to include buffet and entrance fee. £4 for children under 12.

The event will start at 7.15pm with the buffet - followed by the race night. Laughton Village Hall is not licensed so you may bring alcohol for your own consumption.

Race nights at the Village Hall are always popular and spaces are limited so please get your tickets early by contacting Ann Mitchell.

Fancy owning a horse for the night?

Horses can be purchased from Ann for £1 each – you can win a bottle of wine if your horse romps home first.

There will be a raffle on the night with some great prizes – funds raised are to assist with the upkeep of the windows of the Village Hall.

Computer says "Yes!"

Kiveton Creative are offering computer courses throughout the year, starting in March.

The sessions offer different levels of low cost informal, friendly and fun computer lessons for all ages. From those who have never sat in front of a computer to those who want to take their learning a step further.

  • Learn at your own pace
  • Age no barrier
  • No exams
  • No homework

The courses on offer are:

  • Beginners course, 'An Introduction to Computers' - 8 weeks
  • How to use email and the internet safely (Includes attaching pictures or documents to emails, shopping and online services) - 6 weeks
  • Using your iPad or tablet - 6 weeks
  • An Introduction to Microsoft Word and Excel  - 6 weeks

Each session is just two hours every week. The costs are:

  • £30 for a 6 week course
  • £40 for an 8 week course
